What You Can Do About That Heel Pain

Blog

Pain in the heel can be a pain in the butt. If you have heel pain it can make your entire day difficult, from when your feet first hit the floor, all the way to when you're at rest at the end of the day. All of this heel pain can disrupt your day and cause more problems for you. If you have heel pain there are things you can do. Read on for tips to help you if you experience heel pain.

Rest Your Feet

Give your feet a break if you can. If you're on your feet a lot, this could be the cause of your heel pain. Give those feet a break and try your best to stay off of them as much as you can. If you're on your feet a lot at work, come home after work and soak your feet in a warm foot bath, then give them a break and stay off of them for the rest of the night. If you're on your feet a lot outside of work, try to give it a rest for a while until your feet heal.

Make A Change In Your Footwear

Make some changes with your footwear. If your shoes are old, they may not be as supportive as they once were. Invest in new shoes with extra support or add supportive inserts to your shoes to give you the extra support you need. Not only can old shoes lose their support in the heel, but they can also lose their support all around the foot and ankle as well. If you wear high heels or shoes without any arch support (such as flats or flip-flops), you should choose other footwear instead. These shoes can harm your feet and cause heel pain as well as other problems for your feet. Make better choices in your footwear, especially with shoes that you wear more often throughout the day.

Go To The Podiatrist

If you are experiencing heel pain, you can make some changes, and it may help with your heel pain for a little while, but the pain may return. Your foot problems may still be there and could return with a vengeance. Be sure to make an appointment with a local podiatrist like those at Collier Podiatry PA for a thorough checkup, diagnosis and for treatment options to relieve your foot pain for good.

If you have heel pain, you can do a few things to help with the pain, but to diagnose your heel pain and for the best treatment options, you should always make an appointment with a podiatrist.

Tips for Living a Great Life with Chronic Illness

I was always very healthy throughout my childhood, but when I became a teenager, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. Thankfully, I had the support of my loving family to help keep me upbeat during a time that could have led to me experiencing the depression that some do after they first learn they will have an illness for life. I am very grateful for the advice I have gotten throughout my life, so I decided to create a blog where I can share all of the advice that has helped me live a happy, healthy life, despite having a chronic illness. Since I am on a medication that suppresses my immune system, I have also studied up on many other illnesses and tips for avoiding them and treating them. I plan to post health tips for people of a variety of ages and suffering with various illnesses!
